Master Thesis – Steel Mesh Furniture

Steel Mesh Furniture Collection

Mezze Coffee Table and Gino Stool explore new forms of interaction between users and objects. Innovations are sought in the senses of touch and movement, as well as in relation with objects considered social agents. All of this, while radically cutting off use of plastic, as well as the amount of materials and energy needed to produce.

Plywood tiling of Mezze Coffee Table provides user with a way to play around with the top layout, adapting the table to the situation, creating a powerful play between the object, space and users.
Pea grain is not only a sustainable opposition for a poliurethane foam, but also creates new sensations related to touch and haptic feedback of furniture. It also works in synergy with the holes in steel mesh, providing soft seating experience.
Gino Stool’s Cushion is made of woolen felt and pea grain, exploring alternatives to synthetic upholstery materials.
